Billie is a fun loving devoted mother who laid down for a nap one evening and went into a seizure resulting in a diagnosis of Oliogodendroglioma in the left frontal lobe of her brain … No signs of this beforehand but she was then rushed to Winston Salem Baptist hospital and emergency surgery was performed to remove a 7″ X 5″ tumor … After making it through the surgery she was released from the hospital and later told she would need to undergo radiation and chemotherapy resulting in extensive hair loss …She had never been a vain person but hair loss is a difficult thing for someone that has always had it.
Photos and message Billie posted about her brain surgery
“Ok so as some of you already know tomorrow is my MRI … My treatments are done for the time being and tomorrow will finally put an end to at least part of this entire nightmare … Cancer no matter what type or what severity causes more loss and heartbreak not only for the ones effected by the actual cancer but also for their caregivers, friends, family all those who do their best to stick by them even when sometimes that gets tough … Tomorrow I’m going to my MRI with complete faith that I’m healed and moving forward but sometimes that moving forward unfortunately leaves others behind … Cancer is not just a disease that effects one person it effects so much more and it is so ugly!! But tomorrow I’m going to be healed at least in one way … Keep the prayers coming!! Here are some of my before and after pictures … Tomorrows MRI should and will show great improvement!!”

A quote from Billie “I know that seems so trivial to some but I have missed going to get my “hair did”!! Lol”
We are working to make an inventory of semi custom wigs so that Hair We Share recipients do not have to wait the customary 8 weeks – excruciatingly long for someone with no hair – to receive their wigs. Rather, through our inventory of semi-custom wigs, which include a wide variety of colors and textures, we provide wigs to our recipients in as little as two weeks. Hair We Share provides wigs to people of any age, but we are particularly committed to children, for whom hair loss creates unique social challenges.
Our overarching goal is to provide more wigs to more people, more quickly.
